finally! i'm sayin' goodbye to this semester.☺

the entire semester is filled with hectic tasks everyday after another, all with stressful deadlines that have to be met. with my life as an architecture student being this busy and hectic, it's no wonder i always feel negative effects of stress.

i feel like i was constantly running in a marathon everyday. it's a busy lifestyle for us, but i already learned how to deal with my sched each day and how to better handle situations i'm involved in, BUT as we all know, stress cannot eliminate completely. HC had attacked me twice.

ugh!!

i barely have enough time to sleep, just an hour or two, (sometimes i don't) and jump out of bed as soon as my phone alarm blares and blindly reachin' it out to silence it's offending noise. every morning was consistently dulled. motionless. contentedly awakened. and as i face the mirror... bloodshot eyes, pale complexion, bloodied gums.. each of us, perhaps, is in a same state of DECAY (lol). i used to have atleast an hour to spent, havin' a heavy breakky, a cold shower, packin' all my bulky stuff, gettin' myself well prepared, this would be good enough to get through the day. and soon as i shuffles out the door into the sun:

"yet it's another day at the school that's awaits me." sighing with disgust and disappointment. i used to walk the entire length of the street, the school is just a half kilometer away. lately, it was me who consistently runnin' late at class.

the days fly by so quickly. to be honest, i am happy that i could finally say goodbye to long hot summer days.

i'm not hating summer. even i have a lot to complain about, like wearing jeans, i usually get thigh sweat and feel like i peed in my pants all day (and how does it differ from rainy days? i always blame humidity, i hate the steam-room feeling, moist, wet.)
on a positive note, i like summer because it's the only time i can recuperate, and that's the only reason i can think of right now. but i always have a lot of anxiety associated with it, due to being out of school and not knowing what to do by the entire season. i always find myself like in a sick bed, sleepin' all day, terribly bored. this year, i was less engaged with outdoor leisure.

three more sleeps to count before the school opening. rainy days had just started.

(my insomnia just got alot worse, drivin' me insane.)

Secret Garden: Kim Joo Won's Mansion

Tonight's episode (airing in the Phils.) of the Korean drama Secret Garden hooked me up in a while. I'm super amazed with Owen/Kim Joo Won's enormous mansion. I was greatly impressed by its interior design and elegant style.

so I took some photos from the net. (also 'm plannin to make use of these ideas in the future☺)

The house is located Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province with its worldly atmosphere and large scale architecture. The house indeed represents Joo Won’s character (Hyun Bin) which is known as a claustrophobic– having fear of enclosed places.

The north floor is used to be his bedroom with sleek and simple yet elegant style and his bathroom is styled with see-through glass. A five minutes away from here, we can find his library which in reality is actually a large room of books that is too big to not be called a library.

So, the question is who is the owner of this amazing mansion? The mansion is actually Korea’s research center for a make-up and health food company. In the past, it was also used as Bae Yong Joon’s vacation home in mega-hit drama ‘Winter Sonata’.

It's just another Thai movie that I've watched, another tear-jerker.

a 2008 Thai Romantic Teen Film starring Mario Maurer and Apinya Sakuljaroensuk (Ploy) directed by Chatchai Naksuriya.
The film is around 1983 setting and is about Singha and Mituna's endless love for each other. The film starts with the present and goes back to the past of their high school days.

PLOT:

Singha (Mario Maurer) receives a call from Jazz, a high school friend. Jazz sets up a high school reunion from their class only. The entire bunch meets up, they had a conversation and turns into Singha's last year of high school memory. Where he met his first and only love, Mituna (Apinya Sakuljaroensuk).

At first day of their final year in high school, Singha was waiting for a bus and had seen a woman fell down. He helped the woman and rode a bus to go to school. They had two new classmates, Lam and Mituna. Mituna got late from class at that time but was excused because she was new from the school. She sat beside Jazz and in front of her is Kanda whom she became friends with. At first, Singha and her pals mocked her for being so silent. He got friends with Lam who had helped him survive under Kong who tried to kill him. Lam became close with Singha's group, hanging out with each other. Mituna hated Singha more when Singha made fun of her because they were dance partners. Until, Mituna fought back in the bus because they made fun of her because she had helped a mute woman.

From that time on, Singha had been stalking Mituna because he wanna know where she lived. He asked forgiveness to her but Mituna does not want to talk to him. Singha's group together with Jazz and Kanda asked Mituna's mom to have Mituna be with them in their project. They went upcountry and helped educate kids by giving them handouts and others. In a bonfire that night, Singha opened up his feelings by telling his most and second most favorite flower whom he referred as Mituna. He wanted to give the bright side of Mituna.

Mituna's pal and Singha's group became close to each other and helped fix Mituna's house. The group goes out together in resort and the skate club. Until, Singha and Mituna had fallen in love with each other. Lam got killed by Kong that brings sorrow to the group. Singha gave Mituna a paper to sign for their friendship book. She went home and had known that they had to move upcountry. In the final exam day, Mituna lied to Singha by telling him that she had to go upcountry for few days. After taking the last exam, she leave a note to Singha that they would talk at the result day.

Prior to the result day, Singha's father was transferred and they had to move. On the result day, Singha decided to wait for Mituna but changed his mind because of his friends. He got drunk and had fallen asleep. He woke up and look for Mituna in school and in her house. He ended up in the park waiting for her even if it is raining. He was caught by the cops but was recognized as son of a sergeant.

After the reminiscence, his friends told him at the reunion that if Mituna wanted to see him, she had showed up. He had to go upcountry for his job and found Mituna's mother. Mituna and Singha met each other again but Mituna was sicked and they talked whole night. Early morning, Mituna died listening to Singha. Her mother gave him Mituna's thing who she wanted to be given to Singha. Singha read her notes and found out the day she transferred in that school, she found Singha who is the most important person in her life. He found out that it was Mituna's mom whom he had helped that day. The marigold flower he gave to Mituna's mom was kept by her and became the reason why she loved marigold. He found out that Mituna had kept her promise to talk to him at the exam result day but ended up searching for him in his house and in the park. She was afraid they will never say goodbye to each other. She tried to go back to school but she failed.

sidewalk in Oak Park, Illinois, circa 1903, or a tennis court on a fine
autumn day in the 1950s, or your own naked feet in a wide variety of
times and places.

How does it feel?

It feels exactly like one of those dreams in which you suddenly realize
that you have to take a test you haven ’t studied for and you aren ’t wearing any clothes. And you’ve left your wallet at home.

When I am out there, in time, I am inverted, changed into a desperate version of myself. I become a thief, a vagrant, an animal who runs and
hides. I startle old women and amaze children. I am a trick, an illusion
of the highest order, so incredible that I am actually true.

Is there a logic, a rule to all this coming and going, all this dislocation?
Is there a way to stay put, to embrace the present with every cell? I
don’t know. There are clues; as with any disease there are patterns, possibilities. Exhaustion, loud noises, stress, standing up suddenly,
flashing light-any of these can trigger an episode. But: I can be reading
the Sunday Times, coffee in hand and Clare dozing beside me on our
bed and suddenly I’m in 1976 watching my thirteen-year-old self mow my grandparents’ lawn. Some of these episodes last only moments; it’s like listening to a car radio that ’s having trouble holding on to a station. I find myself in crowds, audiences, mobs. Just as often I am alone, in a field, house, car, on a beach, in a grammar school in the middle of the night. I fear finding myself in a prison cell, an elevator full of people, the middle of a highway. I appear from nowhere, naked. How can I explain? I have never been able to carry anything with me. No clothes, no money, no ID. I spend most of my sojourns acquiring clothing and trying to hide. Fortunately I don ’t wear glasses.

It’s ironic, really. All my pleasures are homey ones: armchair splendor, the sedate excitements of domesticity. All I ask for are humble
delights. A mystery novel in bed, the smell of Clare ’s long red-gold hair damp from washing, a postcard from a friend on vacation, cream
dispersing into coffee, the softness of the skin under Clare ’s breasts, the symmetry of grocery bags sitting on the kitchen counter waiting to
be unpacked. I love meandering through the stacks at the library after
the patrons have gone home, lightly touching the spines of the books.
These are the things that can pierce me with longing when I am
displaced from them by Time’s whim.

And Clare, always Clare. Clare in the morning, sleepy and crumple-
faced. Clare with her arms plunging into the papermaking vat, pulling
up the mold and shaking it so, and so, to meld the fibers. Clare reading,
with her hair hanging over the back of the chair, massaging balm into
her cracked red hands before bed. Clare ’s low voice is in my ear often.

I hate to be where she is not, when she is not. And yet, I am always
going, and she cannot follow.

The Time Traveler's Wife is the debut novel by American author Audrey Niffenegger, published in 2003. It is a love story about a man with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably, and about his wife, an
artist, who has to cope with his frequent
absences and dangerous experiences.

It's a hot summer afternoon, typical Tuesday, and I am really at a loose end.

I did some podcasting lately, and I am now subscribed to FrenchPodClass and started (I mean to continue) studying French. It's quite not easy though, but podcast's sound and pdf files are pretty useful, and helpful indeed.

There is a big difference between speaking French, and speaking the language fluently. I was doing several playbacks on every sound file, listening to every word/phrase being spoken and attempting to adapt or gain an accent. I was like doin' a tongue twister drill.

Dare to be bold. When attempting to gain fluency, it is important to allow yourself room to make mistakes. No one is going to expect a learner to speak perfectly from the start. Fluency can take a minimum of two years. Although it may be awkward at first, knowing that you speak horribly will eventually provide opportunities for humor. And oftentimes when people see someone trying and having fun while doing so, they are more likely to offer friendly suggestions as to how to improve and to engage in conversation in general.
